Jess and Chris are a young Canadian couple seeking adventure. Both born in South Western Ontario, they enjoy travelling, exploring and documenting their fun through photos and social media. Chris and Jess are best friends who met in early 2011. They’ve been inseparable ever since and are planning to marry in 2014.

When Jess isn’t blogging, she can be found riding her horse Tyler, sailing, tomahawk throwing or hanging out with her dogs Katie and Ruby on the Bruce Trail.  Jess took her love for riding across the border when in 2009 she pursued professional horse back riding career in the United States.  After returning in 2011, she completed her undergrad at the University of Waterloo while majoring in Legal Studies. She also enjoys dragon boat racing, backpacking, camping, hiking, hunting, Hockey Night in Canada (Go Leafs Go) and her red convertible. She currently works for Nestle Canada and loves every minute of it!

Chris blows things up for a living.  No, not demolition.  He does special effects for movies!  Pyrotechnics, guns, weather effects… that sorta cool stuff. When Chris isn’t rubbing elbows with action heros, he can be found on his family’s farm bailing hay, working on his cars, shooting skeet, diving or playing old-school video games. Chris graduated from McMaster University with a BA in Multi-Media and Communications in 2009. After Mac, Chris pursued a commercial diving career through Seneca College’s Underwater Skills Program and graduated with an Unrestricted Surface Supply Certificate and a Restricted Scuba Commercial Diving Licence.

This blog is meant to challenge those who find themselves living in seemingly ordinary circumstances to go beyond their safe boundaries of desks and laptops and rush hour traffic. The truly adventurous spirit is not bound by the need for expensive plane tickets to experience novel and exotic exploration. Adventure starts in the heart and imagination. Simple things such as enjoying a walk with your dog through a hydro cut, metal detecting and experimenting in your own backyard, or stopping to watch the beetles on a leaf in the morning sun can become an adventure.

Jess and Chris are both ‘country folk’ who currently live in the City of Hamilton, Ontario. This blog will chronicle their quest for adventure both in their urban and rural surroundings as well as their travels abroad. Follow along as they share ideas, adventures, humour and stories.

Thanks Andrea! I was reading your blog yesterday and watched the video of you and Megan- looks like you guys were having a lot of fun! Are you still in Zurich? Three of my good friends lived there last year during an exchange program through our university. They all loved it. While they were there, they went on an epic bicycle ride through the mountains- it looked like a lot of fun! If you’re ever in Canada, give me a shout :)

We were having absolute ball! My post about Zurich was actually from a little while ago. I’m returning to Switzerland this summer, though! That bike ride sounds spectacular! Did they just rent bikes and go?

Will do! It’s been too long since I’ve visited your country.

Hey Andrea! I think they rented road bikes? I’m not sure. They are fitness-freaks though so the bike ride was more of an epic 8 hour adventure. I wish I could have been there!
Hope you have a blast this summer in Switzerland! Do post pictures!
        All the best,

        Wow, that’s intense!

        I certainly will. Cheers!
